Alanyaspor hosts Hatayspor in round 22 of Turkish Super Lig. The match will be played on Thursday, January 20th at Bahçeşehir Okulları Stadium (Alanya)
Alanyaspor is trying to maintain the level of previous years. In the season before last, the Orange-Greens climbed to fifth place, played in the debut cup final, and received the right to represent Turkey in the Europa League (however, everything ended with an inglorious elimination by the first opponent). In the 2020/2021 season, the results were a little worse: seventh place and the cup semifinals. Now Antalyaspor is clearly trying to show that it does not intend to decline further. The team did not perform particularly well in the first part of the season, but it manages to stay in a higher part of the standings. It is mainly due to the successful segment in September and October. Antalyaspor clearly lacks Famara Diedhiou: the Senegalese, who moved from Bristol City in the summer and scored seven goals, is playing at the African Cup of Nations now. Nevertheless, the Orange-Greens managed to beat Altay in the last round (0-2), and it was their first victory in the previous five games.

Hatayspor is a relatively young team. Suffice it to say that the Maroon-Whites managed to gain the right to play in the top division of the country only in 2020. And the debut turned out to be great: the team finished in the 6th position in the Super League standings. After such successes, the newcomers usually slow down in the next season. But the men of Omer Erdogan (not a relative of the president of the country, but a former player of Bursaspor and the national team) are claiming to at least repeat the result of the previous championship. However, there was a certain decline after the successful first couple of autumn months. And in winter, Hatayspor mostly lost. But in the last round, the Maroon-Whites managed to defeat Galatasaray (4-2).
So far, there is equality in head-to-head matches. The clubs crossed paths three times and gained one major home victory each: Alanyaspor won 6-0 in 2020, and Hatayspor destroyed its opponents last August (5-0). But in between, a year ago, there was a goalless draw on the pitch of the Marron-Whites. Both clubs gained victories in the last round, but they are too unstable. We recommend betting on Over 2.5 goals scored.
