* Dominguez is originally from the Mexico City area, but he’s not a city boy, he describes himself as a farm boy. He moved to the Bronx when he was ten, and says he was picked on by his classmates, which got him into a lot of fights. His mother took him to the gym at the age of 13 and he has been active in the sport ever since.
* Had 59 amateur appearances and won three New York Golden Gloves championships.
* The first professional competition was held in the year In August 2020, he dropped a four-round decision over Jonathan Correa in Alamo. Another opponent who went the distance with him was Ivan Vasquez last November.
* On March 26, he knocked out Geronil Borus with a body shot in the first round. In his next fight, on May 14, he stopped Edwin Reyes in the fourth round to win the WBA Fedecentro flyweight title, which was vacant at the time.
* Dominguez is currently ranked 13th in the world at flyweight by the World Boxing Association.
* Works behind a very good jab, and is known for being a good finisher.
* In his last fight on October 13th in the Sony Hall ring, he quickly finished off Ricardo Caraballo with a stunning one-punch victory.
* Still maintains his Bronx ties, but trains in Las Vegas.
* He stated that one of the reasons he wants to become a world champion is to “have a platform to help and inspire others.”

* He was a member of the Nicaraguan national team as an amateur.
* Turned pro in November 2012 with a four-round decision over Edwin Lara.
* Andy Dominguez comes into this fight with a huge advantage of experience. Solano has boxed 178 rounds in his career and has reached the eighth round nine times. Dominguez has 18 total rounds under his belt and has never gone more than four rounds.
*Solano won his first 13 professional fights before moving up the ranks.
* In the year He had one chance against Puerto Rico’s two-time Olympian Javier Cintron in December 2018, but was knocked out in eight rounds.
* Won the WBC Continental Americas Super Bantamweight (115-pound) Championship by ten-round decision over Dewayne Beamon (11/16/19).
* In March 2021, Solano lost an eight-round split decision to Juan Carlos Camacho (who was 11-1) on the NBC Sports Network. He was able to score from outside by keeping his distance. He went down three times with a low blow, but it was the fourth – which occurred in the eighth round – that felt like another low blow but was instead called a knockdown and changed the scorecards in favor of his hometown. Boxer (Camacho is from Puerto Rico).
*Solano moved up in weight to challenge for the WBC Continental Americans bantamweight crown in his last fight, but was stopped in three rounds by Ramon Cardenas. That was August 14 of last year, and he hasn’t been in the ring since.
* Solano is tall for his weight, and can use that effectively to his advantage at times. He’s basically a stand-up boxer who has to use his jab to control things with Dominguez.
