An NBA insider recently had a few interesting things to say about the Los Angeles Lakers. When we carefully consider what he said, some of the things he added actually make sense. The Lakers need to find a way to improve and they have failed to do so in the 2022 NBA season.
NBA Source Bashes Lakers
Seven NBA sources were asked and most were confident the Lakers could make the playoffs, but one source had something interesting to say, according to Bleacher Report:
“The West has eight playoff-caliber teams, leaving two playoff spots for the Lakers. [Sacramento] Kings and Portland [Trail Blazers]” said one agent, who thinks the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs are lottery-bound.
“They need to add shooting; defense,” said another, echoing that sentiment.
“They need a time machine,” he quipped, suggesting that going back is the only answer to not doing the Westbrook trade entirely.
“If he’s not going to trade Westbrook, it’s time to stop beating around the bush,” a source said. “If he has to come off the bench or not play at all, do what’s best for the team. If his play isn’t producing positive contributions, look at other options.
Darwin Hamm thinks that the senders can be successful
Although what NBA Insider said is somewhat true. Los Angeles Lakers new head coach Darwin Hamm is excited to get going with his boys this season.
“It starts with defense. If we don’t guard anybody, it doesn’t help much,” Hamm said. “First of all, we’ve got three Hall of Famers and other guys around them who can score. Offense, we’ve got to be organized and fine-tuned in how we run and how we run and give these guys the ball.”
