The Brooklyn Nets are in Dallas tonight to take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. In their first meeting this season, Brooklyn took the Mavs to OT but lost 129-125. Fortunately, the Nets will return to stardom tonight after missing the last four games due to a knee injury.
Ben Simmons told reporters at the Nets’ shootaround tonight that he “feels great” and will play tonight against the Mavericks. He said he thought he would be limited to about 20 minutes in tonight’s race. Simmons has played 30 or more minutes in four of his six games this season.
He missed the last four games for Brooklyn after suffering a knee injury that wasn’t too serious. The Nets are playing him cautiously tonight and Simmons has put him on a minutes limit. It’s probably a win-win for both parties.
NBA betting sites have the Nets at (+1400) to win the Finals.

Simmons will return to the Nets tonight with a minutes restriction
It’s still early in the season, but the Nets have a better record when Simmons doesn’t play. They are 1-5 in their 6 games so far and 3-1 in their last four games. The statistics are never in Simon’s favor. He doesn’t look like the player the Nets traded for before the trade deadline last season. Simmons was flat and somehow still hesitant to take jumpers and easy shots near the basket at times.
His most points in a game this season is nine. However, it was the last game he played before going on a four game streak. It will be interesting to see if Nets interim head coach Jacques Vaughan brings Simmons off the bench or starts him tonight. Kevin Durant has been holding for the Nets, but they need more production from Simmons. Tonight will be Simmons’ first game without Kyrie Irving on the court. Simmons can see the ball in his hands more without Irving playing.
