After two road games in a row, the Brooklyn Nets return to the Barclays Center on Thursday night. They will play with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
SF Joe Harris is out tonight as he tries to manage an ankle injury that sidelined him for 68 games last season. It’s clear Harris is still working to get back to 100 percent as the Nets are being cautious with him in back-to-back games.
If we’re in the playoffs tonight, Harris might be playing, but tonight will only be Brooklyn’s fifth game. There is no reason to bring Harris back and risk further injury.
The Nets say Seth Curry (left ankle – injury recovery), Joe Harris (left ankle – injury management), Markieff Morris (personal reasons) and TJ Warren (left foot – injury recovery) are all out for tonight’s game against the Mavis.
Nothing surprising here.

Nets SF Joe Harris likely to miss game against Mavericks.
The Nets want Harris as soon as possible. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have been consistent points for the Nets, but who will step up in their absence?Harris is a career 44 percent three-point shooter and coming off the bench to start the season.
He is averaging the sixth-most minutes per game of any Nets player this season (20.3). He had a slow start to the season as he averaged just 4.7 points per game. His lowest since his first season with Brooklyn in 2016-17.

Harris had to undergo two separate ankle surgeries last season and it’s hard for any player to be himself right away. He had his first surgery in November last year and faced some obstacles when he tried to return to the court. Nets GM Sean Marks told the media in early March that Harris would need a second surgery and would miss the rest of the season.
Not playing tonight shouldn’t worry Nets fans. They are playing him smart and giving him the break he needs. Neither side wants anything more serious to happen.
