The Minnesota Timberwolves made a big move in the offseason when they traded with the Utah Jazz for All-Star center and three-time DPO Rudy Gobert. Many criticized the trade Minnesota made in Karl-Anthony City.
Things didn’t start out as strong as the Timberwolves thought. The team is 4-4 and in last place in the Northwest Division. Surprisingly, the Jazz are 6-2 and second in the division. Despite the better record, NBA betting sites have the Timberwolves picked higher than the Jazz to win the Northwest Division.
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley called the Timberwolves “stupid” for trading Gobert. He is not the only one in the sports media to have this attitude. Minnesota will try and work out the kinks and become the team you envisioned when signing a talented defenseman.

NBA legend Charles Barkley called Minnesota “idiots” for the Rudy Gobert trade.
Charles Barkley straight up hated that trade and thought it was the wrong move for the Timberwolves.
“Two 7-footers out like idiots”… “Good business.”
“I hate that business,…” “You can’t play the election. It was good in our time but they couldn’t wait in today’s game. Neither offensively nor defensively are they dominant in the paint. – Charles Barclay
The Jazz are overwhelmingly favoring them because of their early showing that they have to give up on the current trade. Utah also traded away All-Star Donovan Mitchell in the offseason. The Jazz are getting richer with the pieces they’ve acquired and have an enormous amount of capital from the Gobert trade alone.
Minnesota is now .500 and could be worse. The team is going through growing pains as they adjust to the new players they have. The season gets longer and then the real suspense starts when the bad gets worse. Or maybe the Timberwolves will find a way to get the ball rolling and get the team more consecutive wins.
