The current Rookie of the Year odds look interesting right now. There are some names that are expected to be in the running, but there are also a couple that are a little surprising. Regardless, the Rookie of the Year competition is always one of the most prized competitions in the NBA, along with MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. With all that in mind, it’s time to take a look at the current NBA Rookie of the Year betting odds. All odds confirmed via Vegas Insider.
Current favorites of the year
Paolo Banchero
This should come as no surprise to anyone. The first overall pick currently has -1,000 odds to win Rookie of the Year this season. The Orlando Magic power forward is averaging 21.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field. The Magic is still rebuilding, but Paolo Banchero has proven to be a clear franchise building block for the future. If he can improve his shooting, the sky is the limit for the former Duke Blue Devil.
Benedict Maturin
Much like his team, the Indiana Pacers, Maturin has been one of the surprises this season. The rookie doesn’t lack confidence and is showing why he should be in the running for Rookie of the Year in 900 chances. Maturin is currently averaging 17.4 points, a field goal percentage of 42.3 percent and an offensive rating of 109. Tyrese Halliburton may have a chance at the All-Star Game, but Benedict Maturin has a chance to climb the Rookie of the Year ladder. .
Jayden Ev
The Detroit Pistons got a steal in Jaden Evie in the NBA draft. The backcourt of Ivey and Cade Cunningham is something to consider going forward. While the Pistons didn’t have a great record, they did have a few key wins on the year (like beating the defending champion Golden State Warriors.) Many of those were in the production of Jaden Evie. So far, the shooting guard is averaging 15.1 points, 4.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. Ivey is also shooting 41.2 percent from the field. With Cunningham missing a lot of time, this is a golden opportunity for Jaden Ivey to solidify his name in the year’s speech. He currently has +3,600 odds to win the prize.
Jaylen Williams
Jalen Williams is one of the many young talents the Oklahoma City Thunder have accumulated over the past few seasons. Williams is an athletic guard with a very high ceiling for the Thunder. He currently has +10,000 odds to win the Rookie of the Year award. So far this season, Williams has compiled 11.7 points, an effective field goal percentage of 55.3 percent and a 111 offensive rating. Keep in mind that he is sharing minutes with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is having a career season. . Jalen Williams is a Rookie of the Year dark horse candidate, but he certainly has a lot of potential.
