Nick de Vries has chosen the number 21 for his full-time Formula 1 debut with Alfatauri next year.
His selection was confirmed in the official entry list for the 2023 F1 season published by the FIA today. As the last driver of the No. 21 in 2016, In 2016, it was Esteban Gutierrez. A rider’s number is available if it has not been used for two consecutive seasons.
Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargent, who will make their debuts next year, have already announced their chosen number.
In addition to the three newcomers, three other drivers have changed teams for next season. Nico Hulkenberg returns to F1 with Haas, while Pierre Gasly joins Alpine to replace Fernando Alonso, who left for Aston Martin.
Neither team has changed engine suppliers for the new season. However, Red Bull’s power unit supplier, which was officially called ‘Red Bull Powertrains’ last year, is now being referred to as ‘Honda RBPT’.
Haas is also officially on board with the new title sponsor name, which was announced in October.
