The biggest highlight in the league tonight was De’Aaron Fox. After suffering a hamstring injury, many wondered if the athletic point guard would miss some time. The fans got the answer yesterday when he was cleared as he was fully involved in the action. Sacramento’s game against Orlando was good as the game went into overtime. For a second, even double overtime seemed possible. That was until De’Arron Fox took over and won for the Kings.

De’Aaron Fox hits the game winner from half court
Deron Foxx’s impact on the Kings’ win over the Magic
In addition to Fox’s epic game-winner, it was also strong in other areas. He finished with a game-high 37 points, five rebounds and a field goal percentage of 58.3 percent. Fox eased the fears of many fans because it has more drivers and plays. It should also be noted that he was perfect from the free throw line going seven-for-seven. Surprisingly, Fox struggled from beyond the arc all night. Surprisingly, the game-winner finished with a three-point shooting percentage of 28.6 percent, making him only the second three-pointer of the game. Fox played a big role in Sacramento’s comeback after the layoff. Head coach Mike Brown had this to say about what he told his team during the game:
I basically said to our guys at half-time: ‘We’re better than this, I don’t care if we win or lose the game, but the way we play is not us. At least let’s go out there and fight.’ Thank you for this.
De’Aaron Fox wasn’t the only impressive player against the Kings in this game. In between, his co-star Domantas Sabonis also had an impressive outing. Sabinis finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and six steals. He even made some clutch free throws that gave the Kings enough of an edge to eventually pull out the win. Only Sabinis and Harrison Barnes finished the game with a positive player differential rating (four and five combined).
The Orlando Magic also had some noteworthy performances. Rookie standout and first overall pick Paolo Banchero was impressive again. He finished the night with 33 points, 16 rebounds and four steals. Franz Wagner had 31 points, six assists and three rebounds. It was a great effort from both teams, but in the end Fox came up big.
His season so far
De’Aaron Fox has been having an All-Star campaign thus far. He is averaging 24.5 points, 4.8 assists and six rebounds per game on the season. On top of that, he shot 54.8 percent from the field and shot 38.7 percent from three. Fox also averaged a player efficiency rating of 22.2, a career high by far. In the offseason with Fox, a first-time All-Star appearance could be in the near future.
