If we had to pick just one, we’d have to say the Nets blew everyone away. Their December record was 12-1 and we expect them to continue their insane momentum into 2023 as they are quickly becoming the favorite to win the Eastern Conference, where they are tied for third place behind the Celtics and Bucks. Unfortunately for Brooklyn fans, they suffered a mild setback as they lost their 12-game winning streak to the Bulls a few days ago.
New Orleans, on the other hand, has been one of the surprises this season. They are in third place in the Western Conference after a 10-5 record in December. “We’ve got to be better at closing out games, but I thought we set the tone from the beginning of the game,” Green said in their last win over Houston. But we will take the win and learn from it.
They will meet face to face today.
Clash of the Titans! Today is a special occasion as both award-winning coaches meet in front of the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans (7:30 ET). The Pelicans are motivated by the last victory, as the Nets need to wash their face after the disappointing loss against Chicago on Wednesday.
