The Los Angeles Lakers decided to sign Dennis Schroder this week. Considering the type of success he had in Los Angeles during his previous time with them, it makes sense why the Lakers decided to take another chance on him. He was recently playing in the EuroBasket event and looked incredible with the German team.
He recently played with the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics during the 2021-22 season. His numbers are down from what he was doing with Los Angeles, but he still showed he could be an important addition to the secondary and it’s questionable why another team wasn’t interested in acquiring him.
In the year In 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers, however, he was a prolific role player, averaging 15.4 points and 5.8 assists in 32.1 minutes per game. Schroder was instrumental in what the Lakers were able to accomplish that season, and if he continues to produce like that this season, Los Angeles will be in a much better place than it was a season ago.
Basket News reported the following regarding Dennis Schroder’s remarks.
“LeBron said he was happy to have me back,” Schroder said. “It’s a work in progress. There were no fans the year I was there. It was covid and everyone was affected. This year everything will be fine, everyone will be healthy, and then we’ll try to move on to something.
Los Angeles could make some noise in the Western Conference with some additions they made and hope that LeBron James and Anthony Davis stay healthy all year. When a team has Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, if they find a way to stay healthy and play team basketball, they’re usually going to find success.
