Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder will miss up to four weeks with a thumb injury that will require surgery.
After a season to forget the Lakers’ past campaign, they spent the season bringing in reinforcements to help LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, one of which is an old friend in Schroder.
Dennis Schroder underwent treatment today to repair a torn ligament in his thumb, according to Lakers coach Darwin Hamm. Cam is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks.

It hasn’t been the easiest start to his Lakers career, as he was a late addition to the roster. Schröder ran into visa issues on his way back to the U.S. after EuroBasket and missed much of preseason camp, and once he arrived, he quickly injured his thumb, which required surgery.
The downside is that the injury to the team leaves them a little weak at point guard, so they now have to rely more on Westbrook, Kendrick Nunen and Patrick Beverley – and spend more time with LeBron on the ball, where he plays most of the game. The coming
