The Dallas Mavericks are 13-11 this season and are third in the Southwest Conference. Dallas is also seventh in the West, going 5-5 in their last 10, but on a three-game winning streak. Luka Doncic has been very established by the Mavs this year. His usage rate is now the third highest in the league. It’s clear that if Maverick wants to find more success, they will need some help from Luca. Detroit is engaged in trade talks with Dallas for the veteran center.
Dallas and Detroit have recently “started” trade talks with Nerlens Noel. He has attracted interest from several teams who expect to be in the playoffs and are in the big hunt for a rim-rusher. Noel was traded to the Pistons over the summer in a salary-plus deal. Detroit has a crowded frontcourt this season, and Noel hasn’t been part of the Pistons’ rotation for several seasons.
NBA betting sites have the Mavericks at (+2200) to win the Finals this season.

Dallas has been linked with Nerlens Noel in trade talks.
This season marks a career-low year on the field for Noel. He has played in just six of the Pistons’ 27 games so far this season. Noel is averaging (1.8) points, (3.2) rebounds and (0.5) assists for Detroit. He hasn’t played more than six minutes in a game since Nov. 4.
The former lottery pick is only 28 years old and could still contribute a lot to another roster. Isiah Stewart, Marvin Bagley III and rookie Jalen Duren are getting more minutes than Noel this season. He averaged (22.5) minutes per game for the Knicks last season and averaged (10.3) this season. Dallas signed JaVale McGee and fell out of the starting lineup and completely out of the rotation for the Mavs.
When they were out of the rotation last year, Quentin Grimes and Myles McBride competed in 1-on-1 defensive drills on game days. Now, their in-game defense has been a key component in NYK’s past 2 wins. On top of that and on DAL, here’s what others have to say about Nerlens Noel: https://t.co/LdGsmNdxgB

Christian Wood now plays center for the Mavericks, but is now next to Noel’s defensive lineman. If a trade were to happen, the two could be a good combination for Dallas down low.
