The Phoenix Suns have struggled going 5-8 so far in December. Phoenix is 4-6 in their last ten games and got more bad news today. Three-time All-Star SG Devin Booker announced on Christmas Day that he re-injured his cheek while playing with the Nuggets. He is expected to miss about a month with the injury.
Losing Booker for a month would hurt the Suns significantly on offense. He leads the team in scoring this season (27.1 points) and the next closest is Dendre Ayton at 17.7 points. Booker was playing the second most minutes per game of any Suns player besides Michael Bridges. The role players and other stars will have to step up and make an impact if they want to stay afloat when Booker is out.
NBA betting sites have the Suns at (+1200) to win the Finals this season.

Devin Booker will be sidelined for at least a month with a groin injury
This season, the Suns are 2-6 in games without Devin Booker. Their offense is worse at 9.6 points per 100 possessions. Booker elevates the team when he’s on the court, and when he’s off, they struggle mightily without him. A matter concerning the sun. He tried to play through the injury on Christmas Day, but only played four minutes in that game.
Phoenix released this statement about the injury.
“Further evaluation revealed that Devin Booker sustained a left hamstring strain. He will be reassessed after four weeks. – Phoenix Sun
The Suns have dealt with some injuries this season, but losing their best players has been the bane of the season. Booker and his team are ranked second in the Pacific Division and fifth in the Western Conference. There is only a 1.5 game separation between the fifth and ninth seeds in the West. The West is full of competition this season and the Suns could fall into place once Booker is out.
