The eight-time All-Star announced Monday night that he will be playing his next basketball chapter overseas. He signed to play with Taoyuan Leopards, a professional team in Taiwan’s SBL (Super Basketball League). Howard turns 37 next month.
Howard played 18 seasons in the NBA and became a free agent after a third season with the LA Lakers in the 2021-22 season. He averaged (6.2) points and (5.9) rebounds last season as they failed to make the playoffs against the Lakers. The great man played for seven different teams in the NBA, but was left unsigned during the season, which prompted him to make a decision.

Dwight Howard continues his overseas basketball journey.
It looks like Howard is embracing a new chapter in his basketball career and is coming into his new team’s hands.
“I’m really excited, and I can’t wait to touch down in Taiwan and start playing for Taoyuan City Leopards.” – Dwight Howard
“I can’t wait to see the fans, eat the food and have a great time and bring it to the Taoyuan City Championship.” – Dwight Howard
It must be a humbling experience for a player of Howard’s caliber. In the year Howard took to his personal social media account yesterday to break the news.
“Taiwan, I’ve got some amazing news for you guys. Superman is in the building! I am now on my way to Taiwan to see you guys playing for the Taoyuan Leopards. It’s going to be crazy. I can’t wait to get down there to show you how much I love you. [for Taiwan]He said. – Dwight Howard
He may find himself in the Hall of Fame one day, but he still wants to continue his pro career before he can’t play. Howard has been unable to find a team to sign with this season and will be taking his talent overseas. Who knows when we’ll see him grace the NBA hardwood again.
