In summary: The FIA is said to have offered Red Bull an acceptable infringement deal after they were found to have breached the budget last year.
in short
The FIA offers Red Bull a penalty agreement for cost limit violations
According to the BBC, the FIA have submitted their terms to Red Bull for an acceptance breach agreement – a mechanism in financial regulation where a team has overspent on budget capital and agrees to be fined under the terms of the terms. If Red Bull rejects the deal, they will be referred to a panel of judges to determine what penalties they face if they are deemed to have overspent.
Red Bull insisted that Max Verstappen was not over the budget when he won his first Formula 1 drivers’ championship last year. Verstappen was asked yesterday whether accepting such a deal would be considered a culpability: “If we get to that point, then I’ll see.”
Haas announces title sponsor for 2023
The Haas F1 Team have announced a new title sponsor to join them for the 2023 season after racing without the support of a title partner for the entire year.
Ahead of the team’s home run in the United States, Haas announced a new sponsorship deal with financial technology company MoneyGram. From next season, the team will display the company’s logo on their cars along with the revised livery.
The team was previously sponsored by a Russian chemical company that was the title sponsor for the 2021 season and was set to be again this year before Haas cut ties with them after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Callan Williams could miss F2 final.
Formula 2 team Trident has announced that Callan Williams will not compete in next month’s final round of the championship in Abu Dhabi.
Williams, who was racing in his first season in the series, battled Richard Vershoor over 26 laps before the final race week in Abu Dhabi. The 22-year-old finished 23rd in the Drivers’ Championship and his only point of the season was a fourth-place finish in Jeddah.
“Throughout this season, I know I’ve shown what I’m capable of at Formula 2 level,” Williams said. “Jeddah was a good result and I’ve really enjoyed the many races I’ve put together in my rookie season, often having trouble finishing off the mark or running into scoring positions.
“But these things can happen in a race, and as the season progressed things didn’t go my way. We have reached a point where it is important to consider what is the best way to pursue the demands of my ongoing career in motorsport.

Red Bull may consider suing Zac Brown over ‘cheat’ suggestion (Telegraph)
“McLaren chief executive Brown wrote a letter to FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulaym last week – which was subsequently leaked – that Red Bull’s excess spending “involves fraud” and called for them to more than halve the cost of their 2023 coupe, plus a 20 per cent discount on CFDs and wind tunnel timing. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is said to be angry at the letter, and speculation that it was allowed before and after Monday’s ruling.
Willie T. Ribs reflects diversity in Formula 1 (Axios).
“I think it’s going faster than ever before in terms of diversity and inclusion. That’s what Formula 1 has done with people of color. Formula 1 sees that this is absolutely what they’re going for. Participating in growing the sport.”
Guenther Steiner declares three F1 races a year in the USA ‘still not enough’ (Mirror).
“We always have to think that the United States is a big country and it’s still not enough to have three races, I believe. There’s something for everyone and I think every event has something different about it. Those two did something. Good job and I’m sure Las Vegas will do a good job.” .

“We’ve listed every McLaren F1 driver in history and then scratched out drivers currently racing for other teams on the grid as they weren’t available to us in this draft. To be eligible for selection, the driver had to start every race of the entire Formula 1 season for McLaren.
