Los Angeles Clippers guard John Wall joins Maverick Carter, Paul Rivera and Brownie Blendz in the latest episode of HBO’s “Shop: Unbroken” to discuss his return to Washington and the next chapter of his NBA career.
In one episode, Wall opened up about his 2020 Wizards-Rockets trade. “I never got the chance to go back and play in front of the fans,” explained the five-time all-star.
At several NBA betting sites, the Clippers have top-5 odds to win the championship in 2023. Few sportsbooks are expecting the team to challenge the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference.
John Wall continued, “I hope I get the big appreciation I think I deserve for this. My ultimate goal was to try to bring home the championship.
Tower was selected first overall by the Wizards in the 2010 NBA Draft. The North Carolina native spent his first nine seasons with Washington. A professional owes his work to the organization.
“Everything I gave to that city, like playing through my injuries, giving back to the community, it felt like a second home to me,” Wall said.
Clippers guard John Wall hopes to receive a standing ovation when he returns to Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
In December 2020, the Wizards traded Tower and a 2023 first-round draft pick to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook. The guard missed the entire 2019-20 season with Washington due to an ACL injury and serious infection.
Wall only appeared with Houston in the 2020-21 season. In 40 games, the guard averaged 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Wall was also asked why the Rockets traded him if they didn’t want him. “I can’t believe it,” replied the 32-year-old. It was interesting because when they traded me, they thought James Harden was going to stay and then when I arrived, he wanted to leave.

Of course, after hearing of the Rockets’ plans to develop their young backs in Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green, John Wall decided to sit out the entire 2021-22 season. He wanted more playing time. That was the point.
In the year After completing a contract buyout with the Rockets through the 2022 season, the guard signed a two-year, $13.2 million deal with the Clippers as a free agent. He has a $6,802,950 team option for the 2023-24 season.
Not to mention, the contract with Los Angeles includes a trade restriction. If it doesn’t work out, Clippers GM Michael Winger will have to wait until Dec. 15 to trade John Wall.
According to the schedule, the Clippers will play the Wizards on December 10 at Capital One Arena. This match will be telecast live at 1 pm. A week later they will play Washington again at the Crypto.com Arena.
