Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum recalled meeting Michael Jordan for the first time in Paris, where he accidentally broke the five-time MVP’s wine glass.
Tatum, 24, was flown to Paris along with the likes of Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony after signing with Jordan Brand as the Celtics reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2019.

In an interview with YouTuber Hull the Smoke, Tatum confirmed that he lived out every basketball fan’s worst nightmare.
“I have a funny story. We were in Paris and I met MJ in the morning. It was my first time with Jordan Brand, and I did a little bit of media coverage. We prepared dinner that evening. There was Melo, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Spike Lee — basically everyone.
“I remember having to go to the table, and I was so scared. MJ was seated, his wife was next to him, and Spike Lee next to her. I arrive, and I tell myself it’s nice to say hello before I sit down. I talked to him earlier in the day, we had a real conversation, so I thought I knew him and that would do it.
“The problem is, when I get to that level, my hands start to sweat! ‘How are you, Mike?’ I said something like I made the sign to shake his hand, and in doing so I spilled the wine glass on the table, and the glass broke. I panicked, ‘No, get me a towel, let me help you!’ He replied: – ‘Don’t worry, child, no problem, don’t panic’. In my head I was like, ‘Wow, this is crazy.’
Welcome to the family, JUMPMAN!!!
