The LA Lakers are 21-19 this season and are having a great year considering how many injuries the team has been dealing with in the early months of the season. Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers are 4-6 in their last ten games and are on a four game losing streak. Also, only five games are in first place in the Western Conference. However, last night’s four game losing streak and 31 point loss caused Kawhi Leonard to call out his teammates.
Not one starter had double-digit points for the Clippers last night, and that’s definitely not the way to win games. A 34-point deficit seemed insurmountable at halftime, and the final score didn’t reflect just how bad the Clippers had gotten.

Clippers 31-point loss Kawhi Leonard was upset when he called his teammates
The Clippers have lost some tough games during this four-game losing streak. They gave the Celtics a run for their money at home in a 116-100 loss on 11/29 and lost the next game to the Pacers on the road 131-130. Paul George scored 45 points in that game, but it wasn’t enough to win the game.
After last night’s 31 point loss to the Nuggets, Kawhi Leonard called out his teammates after the game.
“Play hard, play fast, play smart, move the basketball. There’s a lot of hero basketball going on” – Kawhi Leonard
Once the Clippers got a big lead, they started trying to hit threes to cut into the lead, and the team ended up going 5-37 last night. Injuries have certainly played a big role for the Clippers and none have been more frustrating than Leonard.
He has played in 17 of the team’s 40 games this season, and his minutes per game (28.3) are the lowest of his career since his rookie season. Leonard is still averaging 17/6/4 this season, but the ACL injury that kept him out of the entire 2021-22 season could still play a role.
