In an exclusive All Access interview with Bleacher Report, Kevin Durant talked about his frustrations with the Brooklyn Nets on several levels. The Nets had a lot of drama last season and the team was hoping to avoid that in the 2022-23 season. After seven games, the Nets fired head coach Steven Nash, nearly a week after signing interim head coach Jacques Vaughn as their new head coach. Additionally, Kyrie Irving has missed the past seven games due to a team suspension.
You can’t blame Durant for the upset. The team is the center of media attention and there is always some drama. KD said last season he asked him to change some things that would benefit the team and Nash didn’t listen. Brooklyn is now at a crossroads. Their star player is not happy and may end up with all the issues surrounding this team.

Kevin Durant opens up about his frustrations with the Nets.
Durant spoke with Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes after the Nets were blown out by the Sacramento Kings 153-121. It was the Kings’ highest score in 29 years.
“Ask for Steve Nash, you can call him right now. I say, ‘Yo, I need more closing practice. We need to practice more.’ I was on it. I didn’t feel that way, and no one else felt the same way as me. It’s Jacques Vaughan. – Kevin Durant.
Regardless of all the outside noise and speculation, Durant says he likes the team that Jacques Vaughan is now leading as head coach. He said how he wants to be held accountable and also has teammates who are willing to give it their all to win, just like he does every game.
“I like good practices, I like good preparation, I like good energy, and we were showing that, to be honest,” … I think we were preparing ourselves well. Men want to win. We are playing as hard as we can. This is what I really need. – Kevin Durant.
He talked about how the boys have been in and out of the team for the past two seasons, and how he has carried a heavy burden for the team. The Nets rely on Durant to play well every game and sometimes that isn’t the case. They don’t have the same lineup as other teams. Brooklyn should work with what they have this season and try to make a run at the playoffs. First, the Nets need Kyrie Irvin back to be by Durant’s side. No matter what you think of Kyrie Irving after being suspended by the Nets, he makes the team better when he’s available. The question is, when will Irving return?
