On Monday night, in the Golden State Warriors’ 112-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Klay Thompson passed Dallas Mavericks legends Dirk Nowitzkin and Jason Kidd for 13th place on the all-time three-point list.
Thompson finished 8 of 16 (50%) shooting from downtown. It was the six-year anniversary of his 60-point performance against the Pacers. The five-time All-Star entered Monday night’s game with 1,982 career three-pointers, tied with Nowitzki for 15th.
Based on a few NBA betting sites, Klay Thompson and the Warriors remain favorites to win the Western Conference this season. However, some sportsbooks show better odds for the Los Angeles Clippers.
With his seventh 3-pointer of the game, Klay Thompson (1,989 career threes) passed Jason Kidd (1,988) for 13th place on the NBA’s all-time 3-point list.

Klay Thompson needs just six triples to tie Kidd (1,988). Of course, he overachieved against the Pacers, bringing his career total to 1,990 three-pointers.
Now, Thompson needs to make 39 threes to pass Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (2,028) for 12th. It may move up the list again in the coming months. The Warriors guard is averaging 3.9 three-pointers per game, while Lowry is making 2.4 three-pointers per contest.
Warriors guard Klay Thompson passed Dirk Nowitzkin, Jason Kidd for 13th place on the NBA career three-point list.
In addition to Lowry, the Warriors trail four other active players in points guard: LeBron James (2,179), Damian Lillard (2,185), James Harden (2,617) and Stephen Curry (3,234).
The 10-year veteran can pass at least one of these stars. Then again, getting an active player through the roster at any given time is always going to be a challenge.
Klay Thompson hit three consecutive 3-pointers to tie the game at 42. Pregame, Steve Kerr said there was something different about Thompson shooting unconsciously. That little stretch felt like one of those moments.

“I remember they were mad at me for not putting him on the floor to try and get 70, but we had a big lead and it was clear at the end of the third that we were going to win the game. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.
“It was an easy decision. I remember, we’ve seen Klay get really hot over the years, but there are a few games that stand out and this is one of them.”
Klay Thompson needs 154 three-pointers to pass Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce (2,143) for 11th. It should go without saying that he’s unlikely to pass Curry or Harden.
Nevertheless, the four-time NBA champion could finish ahead of Pierce and Lowry by the end of the season.
In 24 starts, the Heat guard has made 57 threes this season. Meanwhile, Thompson hit 78 threes in 20 starts. If the Warriors guard stays healthy, he will continue to break records and move up the list.
