Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has been diagnosed with a sprain in his left spine, according to an MRI on Thursday. James is listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
Athletics outfielder Shams Charania, an 18-time All-Star, could miss Friday’s games against the Kings and Sunday’s games against the Brooklyn Nets. This will allow LeBron to rest his injured leg and take strain medicine for eight days.

You know, I’m sure it hurts. Doubtful, day to day, whatever — I’m glad it’s not ripped… You can’t feel sorry for yourself. This can lead to losing a lot of games for guys to hang their heads.
In 10 games this season, the four-time MVP is averaging 24.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals. He is shooting 45.7% from the field and 23.9% from downtown.
“I didn’t do anything unusual in the game,” James said after the Lakers’ 114-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. “As soon as I got off, I felt a slight tingling or tension in my groin.”

James’ true shooting percentage (51.8%) and player efficiency rating (20.1) are his lowest numbers since his rookie season this season. Therefore, any rest should benefit his performances in the coming weeks.
Following the Nets and Kings matchups, the Lakers’ next game is against the Detroit Pistons, which is scheduled for Friday, November 18.

In other news, while the Lakers are not interested in trading Anthony Davis right now, their front office would be thrilled to acquire Bradley Bell from the Washington Wizards.
LeBron James wants to win. According to multiple sources, James feels the Lakers should be willing to trade their 2027 and 2029 first-round draft picks if it means winning another championship this season.
However, Beal can only be waived if he requests a trade. Therefore, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka did not hold his breath. In July, the 11-year veteran signed a five-year, $251.02 million contract extension with the Wizards.
His contract includes a 15% trade bonus and a trade clause. Even if Beal requested a trade, the guard is a huge deal for any team to take. Plus, if he wants out, the Wizards can’t trade him until December 15th.
