After the game, as the Lakers lost 119-115, James was vocal about his goal to one day own an NBA team in Vegas and was asked to explain his desire in the postgame presser.
“It’s one of the best fan bases in the world, and I’d love to have a team come here at some point. “That would be amazing.”
He also made it clear that his interest was 100% by calling Silver.
“I know Adam is in Abu Dhabi right now, I believe, with the (Milwaukee Bucks) and (Atlanta Hawks), but he sees every interview and transcript that comes in from NBA players. So I need the team here, thanks Adam.”
In recent months, James has made several shrewd business moves to involve himself in various sports ownership, including a small stake in English Premier League team Liverpool. It remains to be seen what else will be added to the roster.
