The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers executive who was hired as LIV Golf’s chief executive has resigned after a year as the Saudi-backed rival circuit moves to a league format, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.
The news was first reported by The New York Times.
Atal Khosla is expected to lead LIV Golf, a team of 12 four-man teams where players and LIV Golf League will get equity.
Players and agents were told earlier this week that Khosla was planning to step down. LIV Commissioner Greg Norman confirmed the news in a statement to The Times on Friday.
“After a successful inaugural season at LIV, Atul Khosla decided to move on,” said Norman. “We respect AK and his personal decision.”
