The Boston Celtics are currently the best team in the NBA with a 17-4 record and have won 13 of their last 14 games. As usual, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the way offensively for the Celtics, and Malcolm Brogdon is the third leading scorer on the team this season. A part of Boston’s game that many didn’t see coming was Marcus Smart’s role as a playmaker.
Marcus Smart is letting the league know that he is a two-way player and shouldn’t be known just for his defense. He has the eighth most assists of any player in a game so far this season. His role player made the Celtics a more dynamic team.
NBA betting sites have the Celtics at (+400) to win the Finals this season.

Marcus Smart grew into a famous player in Boston
Smart already has five games in which he has at least 10 assists per game. On Monday, he recorded a career-high 15 assists against the Hornets and joked about his “X-ray vision” during the game.
“You kind of zone out and you’re just making practice passes, getting guys in the right place at the right time,”… “Once you lock in there, guys start reading that, guys start reading your body language and start making plays to give them the ball and make it easy for you.” When you get in that kind of flow, that kind of zone, your teammates see it and cheer for you. – Marcus Smart
He is starting to become an invaluable player for the Celtics. We know what he can do around defense as he won DPOY last season and was the first guard to receive the award from Gary Payton. Smart has been a key member of the Celtics’ success so far this season.
