“Being a guy, speaking for myself, that played a role from the 15th man to the second man, all-star level, Dwight lost his job as a starter on a Western Conference finals team,” Dinwiddie said. He’s the first, second or third person in the gym every day…”

Powell excels in supporting the team despite seeing more playing time. His fans have criticized his countless performances in the past. However, without the 31-year-old, the Mavericks lack depth.
“Congratulations to the people who play on it,” Dinwiddie continued. “When Javale catches a pony, he’s one of the first people to sit down. It is a tremendous tribute to his character. It is the most difficult role in this league…
“Sometimes he doesn’t score, he doesn’t get many rebounds. I know Mavs fans give him a lot of flack for doing more or falling to the ground more. But if he gets the ball, if he hits it, if he gets hurt, if he gets hit in the face, whatever he does, that’s an undignified job that allows guys like Luca and me to make plays.

Moreover, Dwight Powell emphasizes the importance of sticking to disciplined practice. Although he feels he won’t receive much playing time from Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, the Stanford product always comes prepared.
“I think it’s a big thing [I have learned] It is normal. Having a routine in terms of how you prepare, reading scouts and going through everything,” Powell told Oren Weisfeld of Sportnet.ca. Before the Mavericks play the Raptors on Nov. 26.
“It’s just being able to know that’s one thing in terms of preparation for my body and our scouts and all those things that have to be locked in.”
