Montezemolo admits that he is concerned about the future of Ferrari
Luca di Montezemolo, who saw Ferrari’s success in the seventies and noughties as team principal and later chief executive, spoke of his concerns over the leadership of the team following Mattia Binotto’s departure from the Scuderia last month.
“I am sad and worried about the situation at Ferrari,” Montezemolo told Corriere dello Sport. “In these times, because I care about Ferrari so much, I prefer to comment other than to say that I think it is a company without a leader.”
Formula E updates the 2023 calendar with a new race.
An updated calendar for the next Formula E season has been released by the World Motor Sport Council, and it will reduce the schedule to 16 races and add a new event.
The first change is that the May event previously listed as a ‘must know’ on the calendar has now been removed, with the June 24th ‘TBA’ being filled by the new Portland E-Prix.
Portland already hosts IndyCar at a fixed track on the north side of the city, and it’s unclear whether the FE race will be held there or at a new street circuit.
“There is a large and passionate fanbase for professional sports in the city, with strong ecological credentials making Portland the perfect host for the FIA Formula E World Championship,” said FE CEO Alberto Longo.
“The United States remains an important market for FE. We are excited to maintain that critical presence and engage new audiences in all-electric motorsports in the Pacific Northwest region.”
FE competed in Miami and Long Beach at the time of his graduation, and as of 2017 will hold two races in Brooklyn, New York City. However, New York has crossed the calendar for 2023.
During the WMSC meeting there was an update to the 2023 F1 calendar, confirming that the Chinese Grand Prix will not be replaced and that the season will feature a record 23 events.
