“Emotions were running high,” says Vanessa Posso, the mother of Gervonta Davis’ daughter, when she called 9-1-1 Tuesday to ask if Davis had attacked her. She then added, “Gervonta didn’t hurt me or our son.” Davis’ arrest for allegedly assaulting the woman was perhaps the most surprising development in a story that has troubled wrestling fans since news broke Wednesday. “These past few days have been painful and exhausting for all involved,” she wrote. “I pride myself on being very private. This situation was the last thing I wanted to reveal to the public.

Poso ended her social media post by saying that she and Davis were getting help for their issues. “Today we need the help we need to move forward in our lives.
