The Memphis Grizzlies are the top two team in the Western Conference with a 23-13 record. Jay Morant and the Grizzlies are just one game behind the Denver Nuggets in the standings. They are 6-4 in their last ten games and are on a three game winning streak. Memphis has been drafting well in the past and they have a lot of young talent on the roster. However, NBA insiders hinted that Memphis could make a trade before the deadline.
The Memphis front office has built their young core through several draft classes. That’s how Morant, Desmond Bane and Jeron Jackson Jr. were tipped by NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletics that Memphis might be in the market for a potential trade before the deadline, one that could shake up the West.
Tennessee sports betting sites have the Grizzlies at (+1400) to win the playoffs this season.

Are the Grizzlies in the market for a trade before the deadline?
The Memphis Grizzlies have some decisions to make at the trade deadline coming up in February. With a young core of talent already in-house, Memphis must decide if they want to stick with their young core this offseason or make a splash in the trade market. NBA insider Shams Charania notes that the Grizzlies are in a position to do just that.
All of their flexibility moving forward…they have like five first round picks…all of their picks have Danny Green so they can get a star player in the marketplace. That person is available. The question is whether you want to continue working at home [with] Homegrown talent or do you want to go out and use your assets to find another star?” – Shams Charania
Five-winner-first-round picks can draw in some tough trade calls for teams looking to build with future picks to acquire talent now. With their roster so young and still with plenty of room to grow, Memphis doesn’t need to overcommit and make trades they’d rather not make this offseason. Ja Morant is a young star in this league and Memphis needs to continue to build around him.
