On Tuesday night, Ben Simmons stunned the Brooklyn Nets in their 153-121 loss to the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center. The Nets became the first team to allow more than 150 points this season, and the Kings scored 153 points for the first time since 1993.

Sacramento’s biggest lead of the game was 39 points. “S–T, we got beat,” Simmons said after the offense. “They were better offensively and defensively. They played four quarters as a team.

A few NBA betting sites are giving the Nets the sixth-best odds to win the championship in 2023. Some sportsbooks are showing better odds for the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

“Sacramento played better than us,” the Nets guard continued. “They wanted more. We didn’t,” he said. In 20 minutes, Simmons finished with 11 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

The Kings won the game 66-44 on their way to their fourth straight victory. Brooklyn finished 40-of-81 (49.4%) from the floor and 11-of-28 (39.3%) from 3-point range.

Kevin Durant once again led the net with 27 points on a 31-minute game goal. He shot 8-of-15 from the field and missed a basket from downtown.

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons believes the Sacramento Kings were better offensively and defensively in their 153-121 loss.

Kings guard Terrence Davis scored 31 points off the bench. Sacramento went on a 27-4 second quarter run. The Drews were also outscored 42-28 in the second half.

Nets coach Jacques Vaughn is still digesting the devastating loss. “I don’t know if our mind, body and soul are in LA right now. LA does that to you sometimes,” Vaughn explained.

“We definitely put a lot of effort into the Clippers. [in a victory on Saturday] And we’ve been wandering ever since. Give them respect. They basically kicked our ass.”

The Sacramento Kings scored 33 points in the first quarter. It was the first quarter point the Nets had allowed this season. Brooklyn gave up 32 in the season-opener vs. New Orleans.

“We were all a part of it,” the Nets coach said. “I’m part of it. We have another game this trip. How will we react to this final game on the road? [Thursday at Portland]?

In Vaughn’s first six games, Brooklyn allowed 94 points per game and 38.8% shooting. However, the team allowed 134.5 points and 54.3% per game in losses to the Lakers and Kings.

The Nets are now 12th overall in points against, allowing 111.7 points. Their defensive efficiency dropped to 1.095, and their rating ranked 20th in the league.

But at least Brooklyn is the fifth best team in the NBA for opposing shooting percentage. The team is holding its opponents to 45.1% shooting.
