Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is staying as positive as possible after the team’s disappointing 6-8 start to the 2022-23 season.
In an interview with The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the four-time All-Star dished on Golden State’s slow start to the season. “I’m not losing sleep right now,” Green said when asked if he was worried about losing.
According to a handful of NBA betting sites, the Warriors have the third-best odds to win the championship in 2023. Few sportsbooks still feature under the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics.
Draymond Green isn’t losing sleep during the Warriors season.
About a 6-8 start, “fixable” issues and the Western Conference opens up for the taking “right there.”

“Honestly, over the course of the last few games, I think there are a couple of things we need to fix,” Green said. “And these losses turn into victories.
I think there are a lot of games we’ve lost, and we know how to win games. But games are lost on the field.
Warriors forward Draymond Green is ‘not losing sleep right now’ over his team’s struggles this season.
Through 13 games on the season, Green is averaging 7.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists. He is also shooting 53.7% from the field and 21.4% from 3-point range.
His true shooting percentage is also 57%, the best TSP by a forward since the 2015-16 season. But Green seems to be lacking in controlling his emotions on the court.
Since 2020, Green has accumulated 52 technical fouls, which is now the second most in the NBA. Luka Doncic passed the forward after receiving the 53rd technical in the Los Angeles Clippers’ 103-101 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.
“They didn’t necessarily win at the end of the game,” Green added. You can lose the game in the last six minutes of the game, but games are won in the margins, and we have to be better in the margins.

Moreover, the Warriors are in 11th place in the Western Conference. With a rating of 1.099, they currently rank 23rd overall in defensive efficiency.
Golden State, which ranks 27th in opponent points per game, allows 117.5 points per contest. Meanwhile, shooting hasn’t been a problem for the Warriors. The team is fifth in the NBA in shooting 48% overall.
Not to mention, Golden State is third behind the Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings in scoring (117.4 ppg).
“I think the struggle is real,” Draymond Green continued. “As for me, I don’t think our struggle is one we can ignore. They are real struggles. They are very adjustable struggles.
I don’t want to say that they can be easily fixed, because to say that something is easy in this profession is a lie in itself. But they are very adjustable. “
Golden State plays the Phoenix Suns tonight at 10pm ET. While the Warriors have won three of their last four, the Suns are coming off back-to-back losses to the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic.
