The Toronto Raptors were hit hard on Sunday. Forward Pascal Sika is expected to miss two weeks with a strained right hamstring.
He was injured while recovering from an injury suffered by the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. Siakam was trying to make a pass on Christian Wood, who slipped to the floor, clutching his groin, an injury he had suffered earlier. He left the game and never returned.

When he heals the injury leaves a big hole to fill the court. In nine games, he averaged the team in points, assists and rebounds. So far, Siakam is averaging 24.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. His performance so far has earned him praise from several pundits in the NBA media. The Raptors were off to a 5-3 start before Friday’s game in Dallas.

Expect an expanded role for one of Precious Achiwa, Chris Boucher or Christian Koloko in Pascal Siakam’s absence. Koloko, a rookie from Arizona, has started the last three games at center for the Raptors. Meanwhile, on Friday, both Achiwa and Boucher played more than 25 minutes after leaving the game while nursing. Expect Scotty Barnes to serve as the team’s coordinator to compensate for Siakam’s play, especially if Fred VanVleet is unavailable.
The 5-4 Raptors are back in action Sunday when they play host to the Chicago Bulls. The two wake up at 6:00 p.m
