Box Insider’s His debut card, “New Starters,” goes down tonight at Sony Hall in downtown Manhattan. The main event features the return of Heather “The Heat” Hardy, 22-2, as the former WBO world featherweight champion takes on the experienced 20-15-3 Calista Silgado in a scheduled 6-round lightweight affair.
First, Freddie Roach trained junior welterweight Petros Ananyan, 16-3-2, slipped between the ropes to take on 12-5 Paulo Cesar Galdino in a scheduled 8-round bout. The first saw Ananias trying to press action. Galdino tried to escape the man in the second, but he was seriously injured. Still, Galdino fought hard in the third.
Despite not being able to fully control the fourth, Ananyan still performed well. Ananias was actually batting on the fifth man. He continued to attack in the sixth, the referee wisely stepped in and stopped the momentum.
