After a three-year hiatus, the 2022 Presidents Cup is back.
America’s team will face off against an international team in a matchup of golf’s best. Currently, the US team is a big favorite, with world No. 1 Scotty Schaeffler, No. 4 Patrick Cantley, No. 5 Xander Schauffele, No. 7 Justin Thomas and No. 9 Colin Morikawa, among others.
International team captain Trevor Immelman had to contend after several players, including world No. 2 Cameron Smith, moved to LIV Golf. Still, players like No. 17 Hideki Matsuyama, No. 19 Sungjae Im, No. 22 Joohyung “Tom” Kim, No. 26 Corey Connors and No. 30 Adam Scott are no dummies.
As tough as the competition is, the Presidents Cup is a charity affair. As such, we can expect a slightly lighter tone at the Augusta National Masters on Sunday.
Here are some of the fun moments we noticed as the tournament gets ready to hit the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday.

Jack Nicklaus captained the US Presidents Cup team four times, and Gary Player captained three teams. In the year Nicklaus was the captain in 1998, the only time the Americans lost this event.

What is your AIM name?
For years, AOL was an instant messenger. of A way to communicate with friends online. Almost everyone remembers what they used for a screen name. American golfer and No. 20 Max Homma … chose “nexttigerwoods59”.

That’s a perfect encapsulation of what those screen names are like — goofy, a little over the top, ultimately charming. Scotty Scheffler, on the other hand, had no AIM name—and he had a good explanation for why he didn’t.

Stress relief
Captaining a Presidents Cup team must be a stressful job for Trevor Immelman, but it helps when teammate KJ Choi literally has your back.
A man has a sense of humor
No idea what Justin Thomas is laughing at here, but it must be good.
Big eaters?
Who eats the most in the international team? One name kept coming up… even from the man.
