Rasmus Højgaard carded Thursday’s course-record 62 with a 65 to take a six-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Kazuo Open de France.
Early morning starter Hodgegaard made seven birdies and one bogey on day two at Le Golf National on 15 to the clubhouse.
The chasing pack tried to close the gap in the afternoon but no one was able to join the Dane in double figures, with France’s Paul Barjon the nearest challenger on nine under.
Højgaard was delighted with his performance at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue and vowed not to change much as he goes in search of a fourth DP World Tour title at the weekend.
