Las Vegas Aces life is sweet. The proud franchise had a banner year in 2022, earning the WNBA’s best record, winning the Commissioner’s Trophy, winning MVP, DPO, MVP and Coach of the Year, and making it their first ever championship.
The Aces are talking and feeling confident as any champion in a banner year. You know what, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas; Finals MVP and point guard Chelsea Gray, that statement couldn’t be more accurate. In fact, the former Duke Blue Devil made it known right away that she plans to lead Las Vegas to back-to-back titles and see them all in the same championship lineup.
“We’re not done with this, do I feel? We’re still going,” Gray told The Athletic. “It’s one. I’ll see the next lineup.”

During the rally, Kelsey Plum felt the same way as general manager Natalie Williams. Ace owner Mark Davies was more than happy. Davis fully invested in women’s basketball after the record hiring of coach Becky Hammon and the impressive hiring of Williams and team president Nikki Fargas. Davis plans to build the 50,000-square-foot facility by 2023.
“To the greatest fans in professional sports: Las Vegas, we are world champions,” Davis told the crowd. , we had staff, coaches and I want to thank all of you for being a part of this.

Las Vegas will be a title threat thanks to their young core talent. Aja Wilson will be 26, Jackie Young will be 25, Plum and De’Arika Hamby will be 28. Gray and Rikunna Williams will be 30 and 32 years old, respectively, but both guards have proven to be older. More than capable of performing fireworks when needed. Gray, in particular, won Finals MVP thanks to her strong shooting.
“We don’t play but we still have to call!!”

Next season, the Aces will become the first champion to repeat since the Los Angeles Sparks did it in 2000 and 2001.
