The Detroit Pistons have struggled as a franchise for the past decade and the 2022-23 season is no better for them. Head coach Dwane Casey and the Pistons own the worst record in the league at 9-28. They have gone 2-8 in their last ten but beat the Magic 121-101 on Wednesday night. Cade Cunningham’s season-ending shin surgery was also a real blow to the team. With names such as Bojan Bogdanovic being floated on the trade market, there is speculation that the Pistons may be getting rid of some of their best players. He’s not the only player rumored to be on the move in Detroit.
Third-year pro Sadiq Bey of the Pistons is said to be on the trade market for the Pistons if they are serious about moving him. Bay is in the final year of his rookie contract and Detroit should be looking to extend him long term or perhaps get some value for him before the trade deadline.
The playoffs aren’t on the horizon for the Pistons and they need to start investing in next season the way 2022-23 has started so far. Michigan sports betting sites have the Pistons at (+100000) to win the playoffs this season. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Is Sadiq Bay’s price high enough for other teams to be interested in trading for him?
Veteran players on the team such as Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic all have their names on the trade market at various levels. Another name Detroit should keep an eye on in the trade market is third-year pro Sadiq Bey. He was the 19th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and averaged 14/5/2 for his career. His three-point numbers are down this season, but he still shot 36 percent from deep in his three NBA seasons.
The Pistons are asking for an unexpected first-round pick in exchange for Bay, and league sources speculate that the asking price could be a little too high. With his rookie contract expiring, Detroit Bay has an option to extend it at the end of this season. If the Pistons don’t see part of the young, talented future on the team, an offseason trade might be the best option.

Bay is currently the most sought-after 3-and-D wing player in the NBA. Every team needs a winger who can fit in almost any position on the court. He’s a solid option in a potential trade for another team looking for a solid perimeter player, but the value of an unprotected first-round pick might make him too much of an interest for another team.
