Seraing hosts Beerschot VA in round 24 of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. The match will be played on Wednesday, January 26th at Stade du Pairay (Seraing)
Seraing was actually founded back in 1900, but in its current form, the club is just preparing to celebrate its centenary. And by this time, it managed to gain promotion to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League (from the 2nd place through playoffs). By the way, it happened not for the first time in its history. Another thing is that the Red-Blacks did not stand out at this level and failed to stay in the elite for a long time. And now they hope to avoid the last place at least thanks to the disastrous performance of Beerschot. However, after the dramatic relegation from the cup (Seraing lost to Anderlecht on penalties after a 3-3 draw), there was a protracted streak of failures. A 3-1 loss to St. Truiden was the 7th in a row for the newcomer of the Jupiler League!

Beerschot VA managed to return to the top division of the country only in 2020. By the way, it finished in the middle of the standings in the first season after that return. But now the club looks simply not competitive at the level of the Jupiler League. The first two victories were gained in a short period from the end of October to the end of November. But before and after that, there were mostly defeats. Because of this, the chances of survival are now mostly mathematical, but Beerschot VA is unlikely to give up without a fight, especially after the sensation of the last round, when the team beat Leuven. But now the Purple-Whites are simply obliged to win, as a defeat will de facto condemn them to relegation.
In total, Seraing and Beerschot VA played three head-to-head matches. The first two took place in the 2016/2017 draw of the First League, and last fall, they finally crossed paths again. Beerschot was stronger in all games, and in the last one, the Purple-Whites hammered the Red-Blacks at home (0-3). Now Seraing should strive for victory, but the main thing for it is not to lose. Taking into account the latest results, X2 looks like a good option. Beerschot will probably not lose.
