With Robert Sarver selling the Phoenix Suns, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal is set to join billionaire Jeff Bezos in buying the NBA franchise. According to sources, Bob Iger may also buy a stake.
The Suns owner was suspended for one year and fined $10 million following a workplace misconduct investigation involving Sarver. Last Wednesday, Sarver announced his decision to sell the team.

In late September, Shaquille O’Neal expressed interest in purchasing Sarver’s stake in the company. However, the Lakers legend backtracked after learning that Bezos was planning to bid on the team as well.

In an interview with TMZ, O’Neal estimated his net worth at around $400 million. While still rich, that amount is not nearly enough next to Bezos and Iger’s bank accounts. As of October 2022, Bezos’ net worth is $138.6 billion.
