Following San Antonio’s 143-138 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich praised his players for their outstanding performance.
“They have great character,” Popovich said. “I thought they were great. I am proud. They just play. It doesn’t matter the score or who’s there or who’s not there, they’re an unbelievable coach, and they’re trying so hard to do what we want. I am very happy and proud tonight.
Spurs’ Jakob Poelt, Jeremy Sochan and Blake Wesley will play against the Thunder on Wednesday.
Poeltl and Sochan suffered injuries against the Lakers on Saturday. Poeltl finished with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 10-minute stretch before exiting the game with 7:59 left in the second quarter. His right knee hurt after the dance.
Minutes later, Sochan left the game due to discomfort in his right quad. The rookie forward did the damage when he blocked a shot by Thomas Bryant.
Injuries to Jakob Poeltl (fractured right knee) and Jeremy Sochan (right quad contusion) are not considered serious but will keep him out for about a week.

As for the Thunder, center Mike Muscala is out indefinitely with a finger injury. Of course, No. 2 overall pick Chet Homgren will be out for the entire season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot.
The Spurs are currently on an eight-game losing streak, tied for the fourth-longest skid in franchise history. Their longest losing streak was 13 in 1989, but they lost 10 games in 1987 and 9 games in 1989.
Meanwhile, the Thunder are coming off back-to-back losses. At many sportsbooks, Oklahoma City is a six-point favorite at home against San Antonio on Wednesday. According to the ESPN Basketball Power Index, the Thunder have a 63% chance of winning.
