Kyrie Irving has been an underdog this season. The Brooklyn Nets point guard has made many enigmatic comments and has re-signed with the Nets for at least next year. However, Stephen A. Smith predicts a Kyrie landscape change is in the cards sooner rather than later.
The Brooklyn Nets had a rough summer. Not only are they likely to lose Kyrie for a while, but Kevin Durant has also requested a trade. He ultimately rescinded the trade offer, but the reality remains that there is a breakdown in the Nets locker room. Brooklyn is still considered one of the favorites to win the title this season, but many will be watching how the stars stack up as the season progresses. With all of this in mind, Stephen A. Smith says that this could very well be Kyrie’s last season in a Nets jersey. According to an ESPN analyst, the possibility of a Kyrie Irving and LeBron James reunion is still mixed.
Kyrie Irving could join the Lakers next season.
Kyrie Irving the player
Irving has made many controversial comments. Many of his comments didn’t win him many friends either. Regardless, he’s still one of the best players in the league and one of the trickiest guards of all time. His handles are similar to players like Allen Iverson and Tim Hardaway. For what it’s worth, many teams still tolerate Kyrie because of his greatness on the court.
For his career, Irving is averaging 23.1 points, 5.7 assists and 3.8 total rebounds per game. On top of that, he is averaging a career field goal percentage of 47.0 percent along with 39.3 percent three-point shooting. Kyrie also has a career player efficiency rating of 22.4. His basketball resume speaks for itself. At the end of the day, Irving is still a one-time champion, seven-time All-Star, three-time All-NBA team member and former All-Star Game MVP. A player with such a prize and this style of play would be a perfect match for the ailing Los Angeles Lakers, so Stephen A. After all, this won’t be the first time LeBron and Kyrie team up to compete for a title.
Kyrie and LeBron’s relationship
Kyrie Irving and LeBron James helped the Cavaliers win their first title of the 2016 season. Kyrie, LeBron and Kevin Love form a solid star trio. Despite the shock of LeBron and Kyrie’s relationship, the two power forward have been rumored since this summer. Stephen A. While Smith hasn’t always been right, the reality is that he has several NBA connections. If there’s smoke, there’s probably fire when it comes to reports.
“That’s it. That’s what blocking a trade before the trade deadline is. [Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving’s] The last season together. They are not re-signing with Brooklyn. Kyrie is not re-signing with Brooklyn. … He’s trying to get to Los Angeles. That’s what he was trying to do over the summer. That’s what he’s trying to do now. He knows he has to go through this season. Win or lose, Kyrie is sorely missed.
The Lakers could get Russell Westbrook off their books next year. That leaves a void at the point guard position, a position where Kyrie would be a much better fit for the LeBron-led Lakers. A trio of LeBron, Kyrie and Anthony Davis is a better fit than the current trio of Westbrook, LeBron and Davis. There’s still an entire season to play, but Stephen A. Don’t discount Smith’s prediction.
