The Boston Celtics now have the best record in the NBA and Eastern Conference at 12-3. Boston has won eight games in a row and has looked as dominant as it did last season. Despite their dominance, they have been lacking in midfield this season and will be looking to add some depth. A San Antonio Spurs player has been linked to Boston in trade rumors.
Spurs center Jakob Poelt has been with the team since the 2019-20 season and has played 66 or more games in each season. Recently, NBA insiders at ESPN hinted at a possible connection between Poeltl and the Boston Celtics.
NBA betting sites have the Celtics (+550) to win the Finals this season.

The Celtics have been linked with Spurs center Jakob Poeltl in trade talks.
NBA EPSN insider Brian Windhorst went on The Basketball Podcast and hinted that the Celtics could be in touch with Spurs center Jakob Poelt.
“The question is, ‘Does this team need to get another big man who can step up and defend?’ It is…. “The name people assume comes from the Spurs’ Jakob Poeltl. It’s clear that they made a deal with the Spurs last year for Derek White. – Brian Windhoesert.
“The Spurs may want to keep Jakob Poeltl. I’m not saying they’ll take him out. The Spurs couldn’t extend Poelt. They tried to extend it before the season. He will be an unrestricted free agent. – Brian Windhoesert.
Poeltl is having career highs so far in rebounds (10.1) and assists (3.7) per game. It’s the first time he’s averaged a double-double in his career, and the Spurs are leaning more heavily on him this season with DeJuante Murray on the Hawks. The only center in the league averaging more assists per game is two-time league MVP Nikola Jokic. The Spurs no doubt value Poelt, but Boston may be looking to add depth and bolster a squad that fell short in the NBA Finals last season.
