We are officially seven weeks into the 2022-23 NBA season and there have been some interesting games so far. The Boston Celtics are the best team in the league and have been for almost a month now. Jayson Tatum and the Celtics are 17-4 and have lost 13 of their last 14 games. Boston looks very dominant again this season and they are set for the return of Robert Williams in the near future.
NBA betting sites have the Celtics as favorites to win the Finals this season (+400).

NBA Power Rankings: Week 7
1. Boston Celtics (17-4)
The Boston Celtics are on another level, having won 13 of their last 14 games. The Celtics scored 121 points in three quarters against Charlotte last night. Charlotte finished the game with 105 points. Boston has a deep squad this year with plenty of scorers on the team. They were missing Jaylen Brown last night and it wasn’t a problem. Marcus Smart scored 22. Malcolm Brogdon scored 21 off the bench and Tatum led the way with 35. Their next game is against the Heat on Wednesday.
2. Milwaukee Bucks (14-5)
Milwaukee bounced back from a 1-3 season to claim first place in the Eastern Conference, and the Celtics have been theirs ever since. The Bucks are 4-2 in their last six games and have yet to get a leading scorer in their season opener. Khris Middleton has been sent back and forth from the Bucks and their G-League team to get into game shape. Bobby Portis has been a 10-for-10 player this season for the Bucks. He is averaging (13.5) points and (10.5) rebounds per game.
Congratulations to Gianni on winning the Eastern Conference Player of the Week!!

3. Phoenix Suns (14-6)
The Phoenix Suns have returned to first place in the Western Conference on a five-game winning streak and six of their last seven. Devin Booker had a team-high 44 points in a 122-117 win over Sacramento last night. The Phoenix are much better at home this season, as they are 3-5 on the road with three straight road losses. Booker leads the team in scoring per game (27.9). Chris Paul was sidelined for last night’s game with a heel injury.
4. Denver Nuggets (13-7)
Denver has won four of its five games and finished second in the Western Conference and first in the Northwest Division. Nikola Jokic is out for three games and the team has been playing better since his return. He leads the team in points (23.0), rebounds (9.8), assists (8.8), and steals (1.3) per game. The team has struggled mightily this season without Jokic on the court. Denver has a -16.2 rating when not on the court and a +30.2 rating per 100 possessions when playing. Jokic plays a huge role in the teams success.
5. Cleveland Cavaliers (13-8)
The Cleveland Cavaliers had one of their worst games to date in last night’s 100-88 loss to the Raptors. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 28.9 points per game and scored just 8 points last night, shooting 1-5 from three and 3-11 from the field. Only two starters scored against the Cavs last night. After a five-game losing streak, Cleveland has gone 5-2 since then. Darius Garland and Mitchell have been a nice one-two punch for the Cavs this season. Their next game is against the 76ers on Wednesday.

6. Philadelphia 76ers (12-9)
Philadelphia is 7-3 in their last ten games and is on a three game winning streak. They are second in the Atlantic Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference. Joel Embiid returned to the lineup after a three-game absence and had a 30-point game. Embiid scored on Shayk Milton on a short miss. The Sixers are also without James Harden and Tyrese Maxey. When Embiid doesn’t play, they are outscored by 29 points.
7. Utah Jazz (12-11)
The Utah Jazz dropped their fifth straight game last night and have lost eight of their last ten games. Utah was 12-6 last Sunday and has had a horrible week since. They are third in the Northwest Division and have fallen to ninth in the Western Conference. Laurie Markkenan (22.2) is the only Jazz player with at least 20 points per game this season.

8. Memphis Grizzlies (12-8)
Memphis is on a two-game winning streak and is 5-5 in its last ten games. They are first in the Southwest Division and fourth in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies defeated the Knicks 127-123 on Sunday night. Ja Morant leads the Grizzlies in points (28.5), assists (7.6) and steals (1.1) per game. Desmond Bane, Grade 2, is out for a month with a sprained right leg.
9. Golden State Warriors (11-10)
The Golden State Warriors are 7-3 in their last ten games and are on a three game winning streak. Steph Curry and the Warriors are third in the Pacific Division. Curry leads the team in points (25) and rebounds (11) in Sunday’s 137-114 win over the Timberwolves. Curry’s rebounding numbers are by far his best in his storied career. Klay Thompson had some notable performances last week and proved he still has some juice in the tank. It is the negativity and the doubt that motivates it to be more.

Most recently they lost to the Brooklyn Nets 117-97, Sunday night. Damian Lillard is out with a Grade 1 calf strain and could be re-evaluated later this week or possibly early next week.
