The Los Angeles Lakers are hosting nine-year NBA veteran guard Tony Snell and second-year guard Joe Viscamp as LeBron James misses the next two games due to injury.

Two NBA betting sites are now giving the 20th best odds for the Lakers to win the championship in 2023. Sportsbooks are reducing their odds as they accumulate more losses.

In 601 career games, Snell averaged 6.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists with six NBA teams. He also shot 43.1% from the floor and 39.4% from beyond the arc.
Snell was selected 20th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2013 NBA Draft. In his rookie season with the Bulls, the guard averaged 4.5 points and 1.6 boards in 77 games.

Additionally, Joe Wieskamp was selected 41st overall by the Spurs in the 2021 NBA draft. In 29 games off the bench last season with San Antonio, the Iowa product averaged 2.1 points. But still not a bad shooter.
As a rookie, Wieskamp shot 35.7% from the floor and 32.6% from long range.
On the other hand, Snell is an excellent 3-point shooter, so a potential signing would make sense for this struggling Lakers team. After starting the season 2-9, the front office is considering all options.
Nineteen-year-old veteran Carmelo Anthony remains a free agent. The 38-year-old forward last played for the Lakers last season. Off the bench, he’s a serviceable shooter. At this point, LA has nothing to lose by signing Anthony.
