The Miami Heat have turned their season around somewhat after a slow start. Miami is one game over .500 with a 16-15 record. Jimmy Butler and the Heat leapfrogged the Atlanta Hawks for the first time in the Southeast Division and are seventh in the Eastern Conference. The Heat are on a four-game winning streak. The former NBA champion, who now plays with Miami, won’t cut it at PG, and the team may be looking for other help.
Kyle Lowry is best known for his nine seasons with the Toronto Raptors and their first NBA title in 2019 with the help of Kawhi Leonard. The Heat are still playing Lowry in high minutes and he is seeing the court, but his production has decreased this season. It’s hard to blame the player, who turns 37 in March. The six-time All-Star still has some time left in his career, but it may be the best decision for Miami to move forward.
NBA betting sites have the Heat at (+4000) to win the Finals this season.

Could the Heat be looking to trade Kyle Lowry this offseason?
Lowry’s points per game are the lowest of his career since the 2018-19 season and his assists are the lowest since the 2009-10 season. It’s safe to say he took it a step further this year. Whether that’s physically or maybe he just isn’t controlling the offense like he used to. Miami has several other ball-dominant guards and forwards who can create balls for themselves as well. In recent reports, the Heat were interested in trading Minnesota’s D’Angelo Russell.
“I’m told the Miami Heat are showing some trade interest in D’Angelo Russell of the Wolves.” – Darren Wolfson
According to an NBA insider, the Miami Heat will definitely have some interest in getting out of this contract.
“A league source says the Heat are willing to move Kyle Lowry, but at 37, and with another year left on his three-year, $85 million deal, it’s difficult to identify a team that will take him. And Bring the heat with a twist” – Rick Butcher
Lowry was traded once in his career midseason. It happened when he was traded from the Grizzlies to the Rockets in 2008-09.
