The trade deadline is a month from today and the market will start heating up soon. Whether you’re looking to clean house or improve your roster, this point in the season is make or break for certain teams. As the season progresses, the 2022-23 Toronto Raptors are in that position. One player rumored to be on the trade market is Gary Trent Jr.
There have been several reports of head coach Nick Nurse calling out his players openly and it hasn’t worked in his favor. Like Trent Jr. And players like Chris Boucher are just two of those examples. His Raptors are 4-6 in their last ten and 17-23 on the season. It is twelfth in the Eastern Conference.

Gary Trent Jr. is more than likely to be on the trade market
The Toronto Raptors haven’t accomplished much since their championship in 2019, and Toronto, who dominates the league, is asking some of their stars to move on. That’s true for Gary Trent Jr., who is rumored to be available for Toronto in the upcoming trade market.
A trade had to be made before the 2/9 deadline and Marc Stein thinks there is no doubt he will be available.
“After a disappointing first half, Toronto is one of the teams on the verge of signing a key player. While Gary Trent Jr. cannot be ruled out ahead of the deadline based on my reporting, I don’t expect a massive fire sale (from the Raptors). – Mark Stein
Big star players like OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam on the Raptors have also been discussed in trade talks, but the team has a high price tag for both. The guard position has been a concern for Toronto this season and even Fred VanVleet has struggled at times. Losing Trent Jr. hurts the Raptors’ depth in their backcourt. Toronto has been hesitant to make any real trades this offseason, but the deadline is approaching and this next month will be completely make or break for the Raptors future.
