The Cleveland Cavaliers are having a great season in 2022-23. Head coach JB Bickerstaff has his team in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-14 record. The team is 6-4 in its last ten games, but is on a three-game losing streak. Cleveland was on the road to face the Indiana Pacers last night and lost 135-126. The top-rated defense in the NBA allowed the Pacers to score a season high. To make matters worse, there is concern that Darius Garland could miss time with a right thumb injury.
Garland missed the rest of the season due to an eye injury suffered in the first game of the season. Garland injured his right thumb in last night’s game against the Pacers and is feared to be out for a few games or more. A Packers player injured his thumb when he hit it while trying to knock the ball down.
One thing that doesn’t bother Cleveland is that they’ve found a way to win outside of Garland in the past. It may not be the ideal situation for them, but they have proven that they can do it. Donovan Mitchell will have a few more 30-point games during that time. Ohio sports betting sites have the Cavaliers at (+1800) to win the playoffs this season.

Cleveland is concerned that Garland could miss time with a right thumb injury.
Garland played the rest of the game last night and finished on 18/1/8. For the rest of the game, his field goal was fouled midway through the fourth quarter. The thumb injury is causing him trouble as he misses both free throws and is an 87 percent shooter from the line in his career. After the game, Garland spoke to the media about the severity of his thumb injury.
“It was really bothering me,”… “I was just trying to go out there and compete as hard as I could. The last two free throws, I looked at (head coach) JB (Bickerstaff) and I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t want to hit those.’ But I broke down and tried to make two. – Darius Garland
He played with a sprained thumb for the rest of the game and Garland felt ineffective with the sprained thumb. Garland told the media that his thumb was already sore and swollen during the game. The PG has expressed his frustrations with the offense more than any other player this season. His frustration is not with the physicality but with the referees not blowing the whistle when an obvious foul is called.
