The Phoenix Suns are currently 8-3 and have the third best record in the Western Conference. Phoenix also ranks first in the Pacific Division. Last week, SF Cam Johnson had to undergo surgery on a partially torn meniscus. It started this season for veteran Jae Crowder, who hasn’t logged a single minute this season. Now, trade rumors are starting to pick up again for Crowder.
Over the summer, Crowder learned that the Suns would not give him an extension and that he would not be in the starting lineup this season. Now with Johnson’s injury, the Suns are increasingly likely to trade Crowder. The Suns don’t intend to change their decision and both sides are waiting for a deal to come through.
NBA betting sites have the Sun at (+900) to win the Finals.

Trade talks are heating up again for Jae Crowder.
It seems both parties are ready for the relationship to end. One thing they can agree on is that they don’t want Crowder to play for the Suns. Bridges have been burned and there is no turning back. Teams can reach out to the Sun to make a deal.
“In the last few days, as I understand it, the Sun picked up the Jay Crader talk,”… “and tried to revisit some of the old talk, so I’m told. – Brian Windhorst.
“Now does that mean they’re going to get a deal? Obviously they had some motivation to do it. It was bad news when Cam Johnson got hurt, but the good news is he was able to have partial removal surgery as opposed to repair, which means he could be out for the year.” – Windhorst of the brain
Johnson is out of at least one to two moths and the Suns could use an extra forward during that time. Initially, Phoenix was asking for shooting help in the Crowder trade. Now, they may have to settle for another forward in their rotation while they wait for Johnson to return.
