Gasly awaits test at COTA bumps for 2022 F1 cars
Alfalfatu’s Pierre Gasly thinks this year’s Formula 1 cars will pose a more challenging set-up at the Circuit of the Americas due to the turbulence of the track.
“The track is always very crowded, and I think it will be very complicated in terms of travel with this generation of cars,” he said.
“This year’s cars are very stiff and it will be a big challenge for everyone, although I understand that at the beginning of this year they have grown some parts there for the MotoGP race. Let’s hope it will be an improvement.”
The FIA introduced technical guidelines in August to limit how much F1 cars can be lowered, to reduce the positioning problems that have plagued cars running low to the ground this year.
F1 Arcade launches in London
The first official F1 simulator arcade racing is set to open in a newly transformed shopping center behind St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
There will be 60 simulators in the F1 Arcade, although instead of basing itself around the existing F1 video games, there will be a “newly created gameplay experience” based on rFactor2 simulator software, which will allow guests to compete in different race modes. Individually against each other, in team-based teams, or as part of all-position competition formats.
Visitors can create their own “personal driver profiles” and collect “experience currency that can be used to enhance the guest experience by offering exclusive rewards, space activities and once-in-a-lifetime contest entries.” .
There will be “enhanced experiences” in the F1 Arcade during the Grand Prix weekend.
Looking elsewhere, De Vries can see the “limitations” of the Mercedes tie-up.
Nick de Vries had to make his relationship with Mercedes clear in his bid for a 2023 Formula 1 seat, he said after his Williams debut at the Italian Grand Prix.
De Vries was a McLaren junior from 2010 to 2019. In the year He joined Mercedes after winning the Formula 2 title in 2019, although not as a junior driver and initially as part of their new Formula E programme. He has since become one of their F1 reserve drivers, apart from the Mercedes junior team, and this year has driven with engine clients Williams and Aston Martin.
“I had won Formula 2 and started making contact at Mercedes,” he told the official F1 website. I think I’ve always been known to the public as a Mercedes driver.
Although our relationship is limited to the FE contract and reserve driver contract. Now obviously we’ve been building friendships with everyone here in the team, but I think you’ve always looked at him as a Mercedes driver. And I think that made me realize that Monday evening after Monza might have a limit. So it was important to explain my situation to the callers.
One of those people was Red Bull’s Dr. Helmut Marko, who convinced de Vries to sign him to AlphaTauri for 2023.
