“Nobody was born to beat me,” said world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. iFL TV. “I’m out there on my own,” as usual, Fury had a lot to say during the short video interview. He saved his poison, however, for, you guessed it – Anthony Joshua and WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. “Why won’t this kid step up to the plate?” The undefeated 33-0-1 Fury challenged former multi-title holder Joshua. “What did he want to fight Dillian Witte? He already beat Dillian Whyte. Fight me.” In truth, Fury seems to feel that he and Joshua will never meet in the ring.
“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Fury said of his high hopes for a fight with the Englishman, who has been in talks since last fall for a rematch scheduled for the end of the year. “If that was going to happen, when Chisora stepped up to the plate, he was gone in December,” Fury said. When pressed to repeat his thoughts on Joshua’s fight, Fury responded with complete clarity. He said, “I can guarantee you, you won’t see 100 percent.”
Instead of focusing on Joshua, Fury is now focused on Usyk. He said, “I am going to arrest the man who beat him (Joshua) twice.” “I am going to destroy the man who beat him twice. What are they going to say about me then? Anger taunted Joshua. “I’m looking to fight Usyk,” he said, “Joshua’s nemesis, the guy who found AJ’s kryptonite, the guy who cried like a little girl after the fight.”
Fury then had some interesting things to say about Usyk. “I will beat him,” he said. “I’ll take out your little sausage. He is no kryptonite to me. He’s my little fiddle, and I’ll make him dance. We’ll see how good it is,” he said. Fury says the biggest fight in boxing will be between himself and Usyk rather than between himself and Joshua. “It’s nowhere near (the biggest fight in boxing),” he said of the Joshua bout. He (Joshua) brings nothing to the table. With that in mind, things change quickly when it comes to Fury. Time, as always, will tell the story.
